Reception Rooms
The heart of Vauxhall Cottage is the wonderfully large kitchen. Featuring a big pine dining table, the kitchen is a light and airy sociable space. The kitchen is well equipped for preparing food, with a double oven, pots and pans, and a large fridge with freezer compartment. The spacious and comfortable living room has two sofas and additional chairs, a wood burning stove, a TV - and a large "under stairs" cupboard packed full of boardgames.
Bedrooms
Upstairs, the large master bedroom has an ensuite shower room and a king-sized bed, with views across Chepstow and the Wye Valley. The second bedroom is along the landing, and can be configured as a double room (with super-king bed) or as a twin room with two single beds, whilst the cosy third bedroom has a double bed. All bedrooms have drawers and wardrobes or hanging space. There is a family bathroom upstairs, with a shower and big roll-top bath.
Other Spaces
If someone needs to work or study whilst away, they can use the desk in the private office room. This study has a tiled floor and is right by the back door, so could be used for keeping hike boots, pets, bicycles, etc. if preferred. The bookshelf in the study might offer some new reading material too. Alternatively, the bright and sunny garden room overlooking the patio is a great place to curl up with a cuppa and a book - or to try one of the jigsaws! Wifi is available throughout the cottage.
Outside
Guests can enjoy exclusive use of good sized private cottage garden, which has an area of lawn, and is fenced and secure for dogs. The patio area is a real sun trap, with a table and chairs and a charcoal BBQ. In the spring and summer, guests may be lucky enough to enjoy a stunning aerial display from visiting swifts, especially on the kitchen side of the house. Covered, off-road parking is available for 2 cars or vans under a large carport at the end of the garden, with space for a third vehicle parked sideways if needed.

The Vauxhall Cottage Family
Originally built in the 1790's for quarry workers, Vauxhall Cottage has been modernised over the years to provide a lovely living space, which retains plenty of the original charm. The current owners moved into Vauxhall Cottage in 1997, and raised their family there. After the children left home, they needed a change of scenery (and now live nearby) - but couldn't bear to sell the cottage, and hit upon the idea of making it available as a holiday cottage. Since the first visitors arrived at Vauxhall Cottage for Easter 2023, many guests have stayed - for short holidays, family visits, or while working in the area. Vauxhall Cottage is managed by Emma from White Feather Management. Emma is available for guests when needed before, during and after your stay. The Vauxhall Cottage team have been bowled over by the lovely online reviews, and comments in the guest book.
